The genus name, Acacia sp. has been used in 44 publications on pollen allergy. The NCBI Taxonomy lists Acacis sp. as Vachellia sp. The older commonly used generic name was Mimosa sp. There are no publications listing Vachellia sp. relating to allergy. There are only a few listing Mimosa sp. Due to common usage, we will use Acacia farnesiana, Aca f 2.
